ARE YOU READY FOR EASTER?

PreviousNext
I love Easter. It is one of my favorite holidays because unlike Christmas the spring is already here and the weather is warmer, or at least it should be. In my country Bulgaria where the people are mostly Orthodox Christians we don’t hide and seek eggs but instead we fight with them. Opponents smash their eggs into each other with the egg left unbroken proclaimed the winner. The winning egg is kept until next Easter and is a sign of good luck and health.

So today I’m planning to paint my eggs and make them beautiful. And for now I’m still collecting ideas how to do it. What are your plans?

In Poland we fight with them, too! :) This year, unlike previous ones, I'll spend Easter in Poland, so no doubt Saturday is all reserved ;) I'm gonna try pouring dyes on eggs sparingly, like two colors an egg maybe, to create fun patterns.

I come from Switzerland and we used to "fight" with the eggs too. We only looked for a small "nest" as kids. The nest was usually filled with eggs and chocolate. Otherwise we also never searched for eggs. Hope you had a great time. I love your blog.
