HOMEMADE NUTELLA

PreviousNext

Hello guys,
Today is a day for creating some mess in the kitchen. Are you ready to put some chocolate all over the place? But who cares for such tiny details when we are going to make the most delicious, perfectly looking, homemade Nutella chocolate. Here comes the time for screaming, dancing and applauses ;)
I was surprised, because I have never thought that anyone can prepare homemade Nutella at home. Also the most important is that the recipe is good for vegans, vegetarians or people who prefer bio nutrition.

I was surprised, because I have never thought that anyone can prepare homemade Nutella at home. Also the most important is that the recipe is good for vegans, vegetarians or people who prefer bio nutrition.

Preheat your oven to 280˚ F (~150˚C) and spread the hazelnuts on one layer on a large baking sheet. Toast them for about 15 minutes until golden brown, then rub their skins off with a clean cloth. Set aside.
Toast the cocoa nibs by placing them in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until they darken and are slightly shiny. Remove from heat and set aside.
All you need afterwards is a food processor (aka kitchen robot in Europe). Put the hazelnuts and the cocoa beans inside and start processing for at least 5 minutes. From time to time you might need to scrape down the sides of the robot. When the nuts liquefy (don’t worry – they will, although it sounded strange to me that nuts will turn into liquid, but they do from the friction and the heat inside the robot) add the sugar, the oil/margarine and the espresso powder for even better taste. From this point on everything is according to your personal preferences – sweeter, coarser etc.

You can put it in a jar and it can survive in the fridge for at least a one month without a problem. It’s ideal for breakfast on a piece of toast or to prepare other delicious things like muffins for example. Or if you want you can pack it beautifully and give it as a gift. Hand write a nice label, use a beautiful small jar with a ribbon of course ;) and you have a gift, prepared with love which you can give even without any specific reason. I’m sure they will appreciate it.

This blog is "delicious"! I'd love to make Nutella but I don't know what are "cocoa nibs". Can I use cocoa powder instead?
