Prague City Guide: Průhonice Park

PreviousNext

Yesterday it was a bit quiet here. The reason for this is that I decided to have a day away from the computer, in the fresh air and in the nature. So today I can’t wait to tell you where I’ve been.

Few kilometers out of Prague is located the Průhonice Park – an incredibly beautiful place with lakes, streams, centuries old trees and magnificent castle.. It is really huge and no matter that the parking outside was full, inside was really calm and relaxing. I think this is the biggest advantage of Průhonice compared to the city parks like Stromovka and Letná  In my opinion it is the best place for picnics and walk with friends. Right now the magnolias are blooming so it is worth visiting if you are near Prague.

If you are not prepared for picnic the nearby restaurants offer delicious food in a cozy environment. The nearby Wine Food Market offers delicious prosciutto, wine and fresh vegetables.

Hi Radostina! I've followed your blog for quite a time now and it's always so inspiring.
Me and my boyfriend are finally taking a trip to Prague this june and I wonder if you have any more specific things that happens in the summer in the town? Like markets or great outdoor-restaurants… We'll definitely go to this park if we got the time – i love gardens and flowers! Big hug, Sandra

This is the second largest island in the Bay and has many stories to tell. Most of them - probably not so happy. The island was used as an immigration station where officials detained, inspected and examined approximately one million immigrants. Many people primarily from Asia, have to spend here months waiting for the heir immigration status.
