HOW TO ENJOY YOUR FLOWERS LONGER

PreviousNext

79ideas_what_to_do_with_flower_bouquet

I love fresh flowers. I’m trying to have them at home as much as possible. When I purchase flowers from my local flower shop (usually @dandelionflowers) I bring them home and enjoy them for few days. But of course after few days, some of the flowers are not in their best condition. So here is what I do – I pick the flowers that are still pretty, the rest – just throw away. Cut the beautiful ones and put them in a different little glass vases.

79ideas_what_to_do_with_flower_bouquet_after

My little vases are usually not real vases – I collect small jars from jam, olives, glass soda bottles etc. Then I simply rearrange the still fresh flowers and create a small collection of pretty colors. This one here I arranged according to the colors.
Now I’m ready to welcome the Spring. What about you?

Great tips ! I do the same with my flowers. It also really helps to buy quality flowers from local shops like you do , they last way longer than the one you buy at chain stores.

    Have a good weekend

    Hi Radostina,
I have deserted your blog for some time and boy do I regret it! My absence was due to hectic and enjoyable family life, so luckily nothing bad, but I am enjoying the freshness of your approach and visuals all over again – it is like a rediscovery. Fresh flowers are one of my favorite indulgences: I try to keep flowers for as long as possible and follow the “spontaneous” jar approach too, my latest entry in the collection being a former limoncello bottle, regularly used now for eucalyptus branches. This way, I enjoy the full bouquet and then many small ones around the home too once flowers start to wilt… Win-win, I would say :-) All best to you and I will be looking forward to reading Spring through your posts!

The flowers look beautiful! I recently got a tip from someone: put sugar in the water and the flowers will survive longer. I tried it and it’s a miracle! x

When I buy flowers in the shop I put 1 ASPIRIN Tbl. in the water and they last much more longer. Not
sure if it works with field flowers but I will try shortly.
