WORTHY CAUSE
few times already i start this post, i delete it and then i write it again and again… the reason is that this is not an article about inspiration and beauty but about the sad things in life, things that i have always avoided to write about here.
maybe most of you have a cause which you sympathize and help when you can – maybe you give something for the kids in africa, regions which were destroyed by hurricanes, unicef etc. today i would like to tell you about mine – for me the cause of choice is to help the homeless dogs in my home country bulgaria.
they are thousands, born on the streets or abandoned by inadvertent people, many of them are crippled or sick. some of them are abandoned just because they are old already!!! in bulgaria this problem is really huge.
there is one organization though, which has realized the scale of the problem and has clear strategy how to help. they are the incredibly kind people from “animal rescue sofia”. not only they castrate the street dogs, but they give home for more than 500 homeless dogs. some of the dogs are young, some are so old that nobody wants to adopt them and ars will be their last home.
the guys at ars have achieved incredible results – they found new homes of more than 2300 pets even though they receive absolutely no support from the european union, the government or sofia municipality.
so they were managing everything by their own and with help of kind people donating something.
the big problem came some time ago when they understood that they must leave the property where the shelter is located. it will be a disaster if all the 500+ pets are back on the streets.
there is a good and a bad news – the good news is that they have found a new place where they can relocate the shelter… the bad news is that they need €210.000 to buy the property.
ars calculated that if every person reading their page would donate only €10 for the new shelter, the fundraising initiative would be over in less than a month.
so maybe this is not your cause of choice or you can’t help yourself but it would be enough even to spread the word. thanks in advance on behalf of all the cute 4-legged friends at ars.

няколко пъти вече започвам този пост, трия, преправям и започвам отново и отново… причината е, че това няма да е публикация за вдъхновение и красота, а за тъжната страна на живота, тази която аз винаги съм избягвала тук в 79 идеи.
може би повечето от вас си имат кауза, на която да симпатизират и помагат – може би дарявате средства за децата в африка, за регионите пострадали от природни бедствия, унифец и пр. днес аз искам да ви разкажа за моята кауза – бездомните кучета на българия.
както знаете те са хиляди, родени на улицата или пък просто изоставени от безотговорни хора, някой от тях тероризирани и болни, а други защото просто са станали стари!!!
има организация, която е осъзнала същността и размера на проблема и има ясна стратегия, как да помага. това са невероятно милите хора от animal rescue sofia. не само, че те кастрират уличните животни, но са дом и за още 500 бездомни животни. някой от животните са млади и имат шанс да бъдат осиновени, за другите – старите обаче арс е последната възможност да изживеят дните си спокойно, на топло и с пълни стомахчета.
хората от арс са постигнали вече страхотни резултати – намерили са отговорни стопани за повече от 2300 животни и това при положение, че не получават никаква помощ от властите, нито от европейския съюз.
така те успяват да постигнат всичко това само с даренията на мили хора. големият проблем обаче се появява преди известно време, когато става ясно, че те трябва да напуснат мястото, в което приюта се помещава, а това означава да спрат да работят и да върнат всички 500 бездомници обратно на улицата.
има обаче добра и лоша новина – добрата е, че арс са открили ново място, където да преместят своя приют, лошата, че всичко това струва 210 000 евро.
арс са изчислили, че ако всеки човек, който посещава тяхната интернет страница дари минималното дарение от 10 евро, парите ще се съберат за по-малко от месец.
може би това не е вашата кауза или пък самите вие сте в нужда, но можете да помогнете дори ако просто разпространите този апел за помощ. аз ви благодаря предварително и от името на всички онези симпатични четириноги приятели на арс.

Please people donate!!! i have had two dogs from there and i know just how much work these guys put in, seeing some of the cases they have had and turned around and rehomed with out other funding is amazing.

This post maybe is your best post ever! All my dogs I´ve ever rescued where from the streets, Hungary, Spain, Poland…and they all were amazing and good dogs. My new girl is from Hungary again and she is so cute, that I can´t find enough words for describe you ;o) From time to time I spend some money for those great organisations for helping the poor abandoned animals. I hope many many people will do the same! And I hope this kind of post will not be the last on your blog!

I always wish I could help all those poor animals out there… The situation in Poland is also very bad… I try to help the organisations and shelters as much as I can. We are constantly donating money to the shelter our doggy came from, and gathering food, blankets and other resources for the general use…. Unfortunately, sometimes its not enough because there is always more and more needed :( That's why I'm always happy to see other people understand the problem and try to help… It does increase awareness and it does help!
