Snowflakes under microscope ♥

PreviousNext

I love to catch snowflakes! I can imagine other people do too. But I couldn’t imagine someone doing this for the last 11 years of his life. Furthermore it is a physics professor at the California Institute of Technology.
But Kenneth Libbrecht is doing in a different way than all of us – he is using a special photo microscope and with it he is trying to show us the perfection of Mother Nature.
Here are the pictures – real snowflakes under microscope. They look different and this is based on the climate conditions under which the snowflake has formed. As I am not a physician and I do not know much about these things I can only recommend you to go and check Kenneth’s projects for more details. And the snowflakes are just wonderfully perfect.

This is the second largest island in the Bay and has many stories to tell. Most of them - probably not so happy. The island was used as an immigration station where officials detained, inspected and examined approximately one million immigrants. Many people primarily from Asia, have to spend here months waiting for the heir immigration status.
