DIY: How to make your own gift packaging //

PreviousNext

As I told you few days ago, this month I’m a guest of the Bulgarian online magazine Jenite.bg with few articles. I’ve already shown you my first one, and today I would like to tell you about the second one which actually is a fresh and cute idea for packaging. I wrote this post for the St. Valentine’s day, but I think that you can use it even in other occasions.

  1. paper with beautiful patterns – I chose stripes and my favorite polka dots
  2. office supplies – scissors, pencil, ruler, glue
  3. square envelop – I used some that remained from Christmas
  4. beautiful textile ribbons

We will try to recreate the structure of the old envelope but with our own colorful and more beautiful paper.

  1. very carefully unstick the old envelope, so you can use it as a template. Put it on your chosen paper and outline the shape with a pencil.
  2. cut along the outlines
  3.  and
  4. fold where needed using ruler
  5. do this to all four sides of the packaging, and if you did it correctly our pack should have nice and neat forms.
  6. put your small gift inside – this could be a beautiful cloth, card, everything cute and sweet that you want to give to your beloved one  :).

To make it even cuter I suggest you use a spectacular sticker in the form of heart. You can cut it by hand or use wooden shapes like mine.
Whatever you choose, stick it so that the four flaps could stay closed and you are ready. I think it is nice when you give something that you’ve created with your own hands, with care and love.

If you like also you can use a textile ribbon, which you can wrap around the envelope just like in a classical gift box – it looks nice too. I really hope that you will find this DIY interesting, useful and don’t forget to have fun.
