SIMPLE FOOD: CHRISTMAS STARS

PreviousNext
This Saturday in my home it smelled like delicious Christmas cookies.

That’s because I like a lot the Czech tradition to bake many and different types of sweets which people exchange until Christmas. So this year I’ve decided to participate too. I will bake, style and try various types of small sweets.
The first were the Winter cookies from last week and now it is time for these Christmas stars, which are very easy to prepare and at the same time they are extremely delicious and cute looking.

Here is what you’ll need:
250 gr. flour // 1 yolk // 140 gr. butter // 70 gr. dusting sugar // half lemon // cinnamon
you’ll need also some brown sugar, few spoons of rum and jam – I used a home made from my grandma.

Preparation:
From all the products prepare dough and put it in the fridge for couple of hours. When the dough cools down roll it thin and cut it with star-shaped forms. Half of them sprinkle with the brown sugar and the other half – with the rum. Bake in preheated to 150°C (300° F) oven for about 15 minutes or until they become pink.

After the cookies cool down stick them together with the jam in-between, Make sure you use one sprinkled with sugar and one – with the rum. Have fun.
